Walking Inside the Fence in Jerome Park Reservoir

Karen Argenti and Dennis Nagle leading a group of community residents around the walk inside the fence of Jerome Park Reservoir.  We estimate the date around 1998-99.  People love to walk on the level circumference walkway near the water.

WHAT A GREAT PICTURE!! THAT’S THE WAY IT SHOULD BE, OPENED UP SO THAT THE PUBLIC CAN PARTAKE OF THE SMOOTH ASPHALT PATHWAY FOR WALKING, JOGGING, RUNNING OR RIDING BIKES.WE FOUGHT LONG AND HARD ,YEARS AGO TO GET THE SECOND FENCE PUT IN TO SECURE THE RESERVOIR’S WATER SUPPLY. NOW THAT’S A MOOT POINT, WITH THE FILTRATION PLANT GOING IN UNDER VAN CORTLANDT PARK GOLF COURSE. THE RESIDENTS IN MANHATTAN HAVE THIS AVENUE OPEN TO THEM. WHY IS THE BRONX SO DIFFERENT? OPEN UP THE FENCE AND LET US ALL ENJOY THE PATHWAY.
